Coolant thermostats help maintaining a running temperature for your engine. If it’s stuck open, it doesn’t keep the liquid in the engine long enough, so you will have trouble getting your car warmed up. If the thermostat sticks in the closed position, the liquid isn’t allowed to get to the radiator, and overheating results. The cooling system for many engines (particularly modern engines) are designed to work under pressure, so the opening temperature of the thermostat may be greater than 100 degrees Celsius.

MAP Controlled Thermostats (electrically opening), allow for a more efficient system. It takes a ‘map’ of the engines operating state, such as speed and load conditions. This enables the thermostat to regulate the temperature of the coolant and provides a much faster and more efficient operation than the non-assisted version. Naturally, we carry a wide range of quality MAP Thermostats.
