How to Replace a Gas Strut in Your Canopy
- Assess the Situation: Open the canopy and locate the gas struts. They should be on either side, attached with bolts or clips.
- Support the Canopy: Ensure the canopy is securely supported. Use a suitable tool, such as a prop rod or a helper, to hold it in place.
- Remove the Old Gas Strut: Start with one strut at a time. Use a suitable tool to remove the clips or bolts securing the strut. Carefully detach the strut and set it aside.
- Attach the New Gas Strut: Hold the new strut in place, ensuring the piston rod is facing the correct direction. Attach the bottom of the strut first, followed by the top, using the provided clips or bolts.
- Check the Installation: Once you have installed the new strut, test the operation of the canopy. It should open and close smoothly without any jerking or sudden movements.
- Repeat for the Other Side: If your canopy has two gas struts, repeat the above steps for the other side.
